Nonanoylcarnitine is a metabolite associated with chronic environmental exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and fragmented QRS waves in acute myocardial infarction. Nonanoylcarnitine can be used as a potential biomarker for the metabolic outcome of PAH exposure and the prognosis of acute myocardial infarction[1][2].
